Privacy

When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide so Good Things Are Picking Up can respond. Signing up for updates is optional and records your name, email address, and consent.

Submissions are stored through ChatGPT Sites and its hosting infrastructure. The site owner can access them through a protected inbox. Contact messages do not subscribe you to updates. When you sign up for updates, your name and email address are included in a private notification sent to the site owner through Resend, our email delivery provider. Resend also delivers your welcome email. We keep a record of welcome delivery to avoid sending duplicates.

To leave the updates list, use the personal unsubscribe link shown after you sign up, or send a request through our contact form. You may also request deletion of your submitted details through that form.

To limit spam, the website uses a daily hash derived from your connection’s IP address and a submission count. This protection does not save your raw IP address in the submissions database; older counters are removed when new submissions are received.

Sunshine Hands pickup tally

The pickup companion uses a secure, first-party cookie and a backup browser key in local storage to remember an anonymous browser identifier. The cookie is shared between our www and non-www addresses. We store a hashed version of that identifier with pickup amounts and timestamps, so your tally and milestones can load when you return. Sound preferences are saved in your browser. No name, email, photograph, or location is required to log a pickup.

Your pickups contribute to a public, community-reported total. Individual browser identifiers are not displayed publicly. Clearing all site data or changing devices can disconnect your personal tally; earlier contributions remain in the community total. Undo removes an entry from both tallies. The personal recovery form can restore a self-reported prior total and its badges without increasing the public community count. If you have questions about pickup records, please contact us.

Optional personal ripple accounts

Participation and accounts are free. You can use Sunshine Hands without signing in. If you choose to create an account, you provide a username and password; no email address is required. We store your username, a salted password hash, a hashed recovery code, your pickup history, and the records needed to save and secure your personal ripple. Plain-text passwords and recovery codes are not stored.

Account information is used only to save, secure, and sync your personal ripple and badges. Creating an account does not subscribe you to messages or a mailing list. We do not sell account data or use it for advertising. The separate, optional newsletter form is independent.

A secure sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. You can sign out at any time. Your account tally remains saved when you sign out. You choose whether to bring existing browser pickups into an account; this transfers entries without increasing the community total. A recovery code lets you reset your password without providing an email address. Keep it private: anyone with your username and that code can reset your password. If both password and recovery code are lost, we cannot safely restore account access.

Account records remain stored to maintain your saved ripple. For questions or requests about your account records, please contact us. Our hosting infrastructure processes these records and may keep technical security logs to operate the service; those records are not a marketing list.

Pickup abuse protection also stores a daily hash derived from your connection’s IP address alongside entries. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the pickup database. Pickup records remain until removed to maintain the community tally.

This site does not add advertising trackers. The hosting provider may process technical logs and security information to operate the service. Instagram is a separate service with its own privacy practices.
